Daan Kalksma
With a background in photojournalism, I approach photography as both documentation and storytelling. As an all-round photographer, my work is shaped by human emotion, and the decisive moment, allowing each image to carry meaning beyond the frame.
My photographic journey began in motorsports and automotive photography, where speed, precision, and technical detail played a central role in developing my visual language. Over time, my focus expanded into a wider range of sports, with ice hockey now at the core of my work. The intensity, rhythm, and raw emotion of the game continue to inspire me, offering endless opportunities to combine action with narrative depth.
Working as a freelance photographer for years, I collaborate closely with clients to create images that are visually compelling. Whether working rinkside, trackside, or within other photographic disciplines, my approach remains consistent: to capture authentic moments with clarity, intention, and respect for the story unfolding in front of my lens.
